First-choice Eleven

The goalkeeper Had little to do to make during the opening 45 until forced to intervene by Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. One well-timed sliding tackle against Qazim Laci showed excellent game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Examined against the opposition's biggest threat in their forward. Played more centrally to begin with later drifted out wide after Saka entered the fray. Seven

The defender Advanced up the pitch on the ball, something he's known for in the past. On occasion seemed hesitant when carrying play and the experiment abandoned after the break. Six

The tall defender A constant threat from dead balls, as always, could serve as another option for Stones in defense instead of his partner. A loose ball after the break came close to the first goal from Albania. Six

Nico O’Reilly A further composed display by the youngster after his first cap versus another side. A teammate failed to make the most of a clever touch behind their defense. His position looks secure at this stage. Seven

The newcomer His first start in an England shirt. A bit careless on the ball however his whipped set-pieces caused problems. A useful tempo-setter for the manager to utilize versus defensive opponents. Booked after a reckless challenge. 6

The midfielder Set-pieces from corners and set-plays created chances. Had license to drift in left midfield yet found himself offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Granted a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced position on the right and also did plenty of defensive duties. Displayed flashes of quality but dragged an effort high. Withdrawn late on for Rogers, his rival, after being booked. Seven

The winger Had England’s top opening before halftime, his strike excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate staying deep, he had to provide width on the right although his balls from wide areas were inconsistent. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. 6

Harry Kane The difference-maker netting two more strikes for his country. The first a trademark close-range tap-in and his next a classy headed goal following a clever run off his defender. Now 32, he’s only getting better and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. Eight

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play out wide. Was presented with a decent opportunity after being played in by the midfielder yet Strakosha kept it out. His replacement had a greater influence after coming on. Five

• Foden (for a teammate on 63 minutes) Was bright and combined well with the striker in a preferred position, 6/10
• Bukayo Saka (for the winger at the 63-minute mark) Missed opportunities although his set-piece led to the breakthrough, 6/10
• Marcus Rashford (replacing the attacker 75) Active when brought on and provided the captain's brace with a brilliant delivery to the far post, 7
• Elliot Anderson (on for Wharton 75) Seems settled so soon, 6
• Morgan Rogers (for the star with minutes remaining) Not enough time to make an impact, 6/10
