Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, as stated by an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
