Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The most recent action-packed instalment that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in action and madness with equal glee, all while telling engaging, socially charged stories. No wonder then that FX's new order for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game property, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a fresh setting and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their constant belief and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always examining the essence of society through this intricate and chaotic perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and introduce our shared bold, visionary approach to the screen.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
