Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
