British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
